Business Evolution

Business Evolution is the continuous, collaborative process by which your business defines and improves how it works — together, and with AI. It is the design-time loop: the part of p6k where your operations are shaped, reviewed, and kept honest as the business changes.

Why it exists

How a business actually runs usually lives in people’s heads, in scattered documents, in chat threads, or nowhere at all. When it does get written down, it’s a snapshot that is stale the moment it is saved. AI should fix this — but most AI tools are built for one person, working alone, with no shared record, no review, and no way to keep what was captured alive. Business Evolution is the missing layer: a structured way for a whole team to define how the business works, through AI, and keep it current.

The loop

Business Evolution moves from a conversation all the way to a running system, and then begins again:

  1. Converse. p6k collaborates with you and your team to surface how the business actually works. Different people contribute where they know best.
  2. Align. What was captured is organized into a shared model of your domain — the people, things, and work your business revolves around.
  3. Design. You decide what to build or change this round, and in what order.
  4. Specify. Each piece is written down precisely — the playbook that says exactly what should happen.
  5. Create. Those specifications become running playbooks, data, and workflows — tailored to you, not pulled from a template.
  6. Run. The system goes live and your team operates inside it. This is where Business Operations takes over.
  7. Evolve. As the business grows, learns, or changes, the loop runs again. The playbooks are never finished.

Built for teams, with review built in

Business Evolution is not a solo activity. Different people answer for different parts of the business — finance, operations, sales — and contribute where they know best. Nothing becomes canonical until the right people have reviewed and approved it. Every step has a gate: the system never puts something into production that a human hasn’t signed off on.

One process, any output

The same loop works no matter what your business produces. For most companies it generates the playbooks, data, and workflows that run operations. The same process can produce standard operating procedures, compliance documentation — even software. The process is universal; what it creates is up to your business.

When the playbooks go live, the run-time loop takes over.
